At 2:30pm, November 29, professor Pang Mingyong from Nanjing Normal University gave a lecture on Numerical Approximation and Manifold Learning in Room 9638 of the College of Educational Information Technology. The lecture was presided over by teacher Wei Yantao.

The report mainly included numerical approximation, machine learning, dimensional reduction and parameterization. Professor Pang introduced in a simple way how to conduct numerical approximation, data fitting, approximation function and neural networks learning. Afterwards, he shared the current problems as well as significant discoveries, giving some application cases of Image aspect optimizing and planar spring system.

Through the lecture, teachers and students of SEIT further understood related researches about numerical approximation and manifold learning, which played a positive role in promoting the scientific research level in the future.
